The Administrative Structure Of The Che And Its Officials

The Administration of the Council for Higher Education operates through five divisions and a unit for Projects in Planning and Budgeting:

 

A. The Academic Division / Secretariat of the Council and the PBC – activates the Council plenum and its committees.

The division is headed by the Deputy Director-General for Academic Affairs.

 

B. The Budgeting Division – deals with the budgeting of the institutions of higher education and assists the Planning and Budgeting Committee in its work.

The division is headed by the Deputy Director-General for Budgeting.

 

C. The Planning and Policy Division – deals with the collection and processing of data for planning needs and for providing information. The division maintains contacts with other planning and data processing agencies in Israel and abroad.

The division is headed by the Deputy Director-General for Planning and Information.

 

D. The Quality Assessment Division – is responsible for operating the system for assessing quality by means of international evaluating committees, including coordinating the work of these committees, giving guidelines to institutions, and following-up on implementation of recommendations of international evaluating committees and decisions of the Council.

The division is headed by the Deputy Director-General for Quality Assessment.

 

E. The Administration and Human Resources Division – is responsible for fulfilling the variety of needs and services necessary for the activity of the CHE administration in the following areas: human resources management, management of information and communications systems, financial management, administrative and acquisitions services, and security and safety.

 The division is headed by the Deputy Director General for Administration and Human Resources.

 

F. The Unit for Projects in Planning and Budgeting – the Unit leads strategic projects in Planning and Budgeting, to realize the Higher Education Policy, with three main foci: strategic processes related to developing central research infrastructures in Israeli academia, initiating and managing strategic collaboration in Israel and abroad and the design, kick-off and managing of special projects to realize the Higher Education policy, such as the I-CORE program (Israeli Centers of Research Excellence), a project to broaden the accessibility of the ultra-religious sector to higher education, and more.
